Evening portrait practice with my Pentax 67

In a couple of weeks I'm planning to visit the Bhaktivadanta manor to make portraits of the people which live there. The manor is the UK's main centre for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. To help me engage with people at the manor i have been approaching strangers to try and engage with them and get some practice talking to people i have never met before. Most of the recent entries on my blog have been research towards this project, using different camera formats to see which i work best with. Also taking pictures at different times of day to experiment with differing qualities of natural light. the evening light just after the sun has gone down . the early morning.

Up all night

Recently, every weekend i have been getting up at 6.30-7 am and walking the same route to Gyllingvase beach in falmouth. on my walk i meet people... and i try to talk with them and take their portrait. yesterday i started to ask myself, why? i think its that i crave the momentary connection between myself and a stranger... but then when i look back at the photo's it feels like just want to talk with someone. thats all we as human beings really need. although it seems that i am just collecting these portraits to substitute for real relationships. for friends that i miss.
